Hayden ends Malaysian test on top
2006 champion Nicky Hayden ended the three-day Malaysian test session on top of the time sheets by a massive 1.2s over the next quickest rider, Colin Edwards.
Hayden was running in qualifying trim to set his 2m00.592s lap and continued to test Michelin tyres during his 85 laps.
John Hopkins finished third to make it three American riders in the top three, but the Kawasaki rider suffered a crash in the afternoon, but emerged unscathed.
Dovizioso was fourth ahead of Suzuki's Vermeulen and Capirossi and Jorge Lorenzo was seventh. West, de Puniet and Toseland rounded off the ten-strong field.
