De Puniet fastest on opening day
22 January 2008 – Honda LCR continues to surprise many in the MotoGP paddock. The Frenchman was the fastest rider again at Sepang at the end of the first, out of a three-day, test on the Honda LCR machine. He was half a second ahead of Dani Pedrosa, who broke his hand in an unfortunate crash.
Tuesday was the first out of a three-day test at Sepang, Malaysia. Twenty-one MotoGP riders completed a day of testing at the track near Kuala Lumpur in humid conditions. For Casey Stoner it was the first outing on track since he hurt his shoulder at Jerez. Stoner completed 36 laps with a fastest time of 2.02.457.
There were a few crashes today. Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo both experienced a crash.
