Ducati test rider Franco Battaini was able to walk away from a crash at Jerez on Wednesday but is confident that the injuries sustained should not put off a return to testing in the middle of next month.
With the majority of the field currently stationed in Malaysia, Battaini concentrated on a private test for Ducati in Spain as the Italian team elected not to make use of the test rider session at Sepang on Wednesday. Having run checks for fuel consumption, the Brescia man later took a tumble from the Desmosedici GP10.
"We've had a good test, even though the weather conditions were not the best," the 37-year-old reported. "In the morning the track is always wet.
"I had a crash at the second turn and landed on my right arm. I may have a partial fracture of the ulna (forearm) but it's not serious, in any case, and shouldn't prevent my return to this track for the next test which is scheduled for the 17th and 18th of March."
