Álvaro Bautista is yet to race in front of a home crowd in the top MotoGP category although the Talavera de la Reina rider will do just that this weekend as the Spanish Grand Prix comes early on the calendar. The 125cc Champion of 2006 endured a tough debut in Qatar earlier this month, coming off his bike at the final corner.

Although his debut at Losail ended after a coming together with former 250cc rival Marco Simoncelli's Honda Gresini, Bautista is confident that Rizla Suzuki can begin to find its way up the order in Spain.

"I am still disappointed from Qatar, it was not the best way to start in MotoGP, but this is another race and I must learn from what happened last time," the 25-year-old began.

"I like the Jerez circuit and got on the podium there last year, so that is a good sign. It will be a big weekend for me because it will be the first time I have raced in Spain for Suzuki, so I hope to put on a good show for all the Spanish fans."
