Ducati: Our interest remains in Rossi

6 August 2010

Ducati has issued a statement explaining that, although no deal has been signed as yet, interest levels remain high in terms of World Champion Valentino Rossi switching to the Italian outfit from Yamaha ahead of the 2011 season.

Speculation had already been high about a Rossi-Ducati move although hearsay only increased when Ducati confirmed last month that 2007 title winner Casey Stoner would be leaving, heading to Honda, at the end of the year.

The latest word is that an announcement from Rossi may arrive at next weekend’s Czech Grand Prix although Ducati confirms that no contract is in place at present.

‘No agreement has been reached with riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden for the future MotoGP season although our interest in these riders remains,’ reads an official statement from the team.

‘Whether and when an agreement is reached, official press releases will be issued.’
