Pedrosa hoping for consistent Indianapolis weekend

23 August 2010

Heading into this weekend’s Indianapolis Grand Prix, Dani Pedrosa may still be the closest challenger to championship leader Jorge Lorenzo although the Honda rider is now 76 points in arrears of his compatriot and solely aiming for a steady run following an unforced error which put him out of last year’s race.

Although Yamaha’s Lorenzo took victory at the legendary Motor Speedway twelve months ago, the Mallorcan only did so after trailing both Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi in the early stages before both riders in front slid out of action.

“I’m going to Indianapolis in a very good mood and I’m feeling ready to finish the job we weren’t able to complete in the race there last time,” Dani said on Monday.

“I felt really comfortable riding at Indy last year; I was on top of the timesheets from the first practice, I took pole position and the only mistake I made was in the race.

“So I hope this time we can put together a strong weekend and take another good result. We were fast and consistent at the last race in Brno and we’ll be aiming to get straight back on that pace again this weekend.”
