I’m feeling stronger all the time, says Rossi

Valentino Rossi admits that the present state of affairs varies much from the one he found himself in prior to last year’s Indianapolis Grand Prix although the recovering reigning Champion is confident that a prosperous result can be taken away from the speedway this weekend.

The Italian is yet to win a race since his leg-breaking practice crash at Mugello just under 12 weeks ago, having triumphed at Indy in remarkable conditions two years back before falling from the lead in 2009.

“Indianapolis is a special place, an amazing track and as always it's fun to race in America,” he began. “I have great memories from 2008 when I won in the hurricane, even if it's not something I want to repeat!

“This year we arrive in a different situation to last year - fifth in the championship and not at 100 percent in physical condition - but I am feeling stronger all the time.

“Brno was disappointing but the test helped us to understand what went wrong and so we are hopeful that we can be back on good form at Indy.”
