Following Sunday's Indianapolis Grand Prix, third-placed championship man Andrea Dovizioso remains engaged in a tantalising five-way tussle for the position, as he now aims for a podium result in this weekend’s San Marino Grand Prix.
With Jorge Lorenzo on the verge of sealing his maiden MotoGP title and Dani Pedrosa well-placed to confirm a Spanish 1-2, Dovizioso continues to defend third overall from the Ducati of Casey Stoner, Yamaha of Valentino Rossi, satellite Tech 3 Yamaha of Ben Spies and the second Ducati of Nicky Hayden.
“We arrive at Misano in very determined mood; our target is the podium,” said Honda’s Dovizioso.
“At Indianapolis we were fast over the race weekend but we couldn’t maintain consistent speed for the whole race distance and this is something we must work on and improve. Now we need to score some strong results.
“The Misano track is short and twisty and there are a lot of bumps but after Indianapolis we are certainly used to bumps and I’m looking forward to racing there. I’m confident.”
