All calm for Lorenzo as Misano looms

1 September 2010

World Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo, despite being fractionally caught by Dani Pedrosa at Indianapolis, heads into this weekend’s San Marino Grand Prix with a highly comfortable points margin of 67 over his compatriot with seven races to go in the 2010 season. The Yamaha rider now expects more of the same in Italy.

So far this year, Lorenzo has achieved his target of finishing on the podium at all 11 races and the Mallorcan does not intend to end that run at Misano.

“We are going straight to Misano and I want to continue in the same way and get on the podium again,” he said firmly.

“I've been second there for the last two years and I’m feeling very motivated and looking forward to another good race.

“I hope the temperature is a bit cooler than at Indy because it was really too hot there. Last Sunday was my worst result this year but I’m still happy because it was still third and because it was very important for our goal, which is the championship.”
