Fastest Friday man Dani Pedrosa admits that he carries confidence into Saturday at Misano, having comfortably controlled the pace in Friday’s first free practice session of the San Marino Grand Prix weekend, although the Spanish Honda rider is also staying level-headed.
Some seven tenths of a second ahead of the first none-Honda on the timesheets, and with team-mate Andrea Dovizioso acting as a buffer between himself and championship rival Jorge Lorenzo’s Yamaha, Pedrosa looks to be in strong form once again this weekend.
“It’s been really a good start here at Misano compared to last year and I'm very happy about that,” Sabadell’s Dani acknowledged. “We are coming from a strong result at the last race and it's important to keep the momentum going, which we have done so far.”
However, he stresses that staying fixed on the job in hand is as paramount as ever.
“We need to remain very concentrated and focused because we still have some areas to improve in and I'm sure our rivals will also go quicker tomorrow,” he continued. “Our pace has been quite fast today and Andrea is close to the front as well, so this is a good sign for the team.”
