Hayden goes fastest in warm-up session

19 September 2010

The sun was out and the conditions cool on Sunday morning at Aragón as the MotoGP class made its final preparations ahead of the race. Nicky Hayden was the fastest round the track in a time of 1'50.339, 0.023s ahead of Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa.

Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo (Fiat Yamaha) was third on the timesheet with team-mate Valentino Rossi fourth and rookie Marco Simoncelli (San Carlo Honda Gresini) completing the top five.

The session threw up some complications for pole man Casey Stoner who had a crash at turn 14 on his Ducati - the Australian was straight back out on his second machine and was uninjured. Randy de Puniet (LCR Honda) also had a fall, the Frenchman going down at turn two and escaping injury.

The MotoGP race gets underway at 2pm local time.
