Inaugural Moto2 Champion Tony Elias was discharged from hospital this morning after surgery yesterday to remove screws from his left hand and right ankle. The Spaniard, who will step back up to the top level next year with LCR Honda, had the pins inserted at the start of the year after crashing in testing at Jerez.
The operation was carried out at the Teknon Clinic in Barcelona and was done by doctor Joaquím Casañas.
“I had a peaceful night and I have to say it is a lot less painful than I expected,” Elias told the official MotoGP website.
“This was a good time to have this operation, because now I have plenty of time to recover ahead of the test in February. After 15 days I’ll start a full rehabilitation programme.”
