Pramac launches 2011 bike on-board ship

10 February 2011

Pramac Racing has launched its 2011 contender amid the luxurious surroundings of the MSC Fantasia ship in the port of Genoa, with riders Loris Capirossi and Randy de Puniet on-hand for a season which could see the former enjoy a 100th podium finish.

The unusual ceremony involved both riders arriving at the venue on bikes before boarding the vessel in the port.

“I spent five seasons with Ducati, so to return three years later is for me like coming back to my family,” Italy’s Capirossi began.

“For me, to run with the Pramac Racing Team means the certainty of being able to get good results. In a few days we will be back on-track in better shape for the second session of testing at Sepang.”

“I am happy with this new adventure in Ducati,” Frenchman de Puniet added. “I am back 'Italian' again, as in the past I have already ridden an Italian bike. I really enjoyed riding with my Ducati, even if sometimes it is still a bit hard to control, especially when cornering.

“Last year, despite the bad leg injury, I have achieved good results. Now the most important thing for me is knowing that the leg has not given me any problems and in these first tests I was able to push hard.”
