The city of Bologna was the scene last Friday as Valentino Rossi made his first public appearance in Italy as a Ducati rider, with the multiple World Champion having switched to the red team following seven seasons with Yamaha.
Around 35,000 fans gathered in the Piazza Maggiore on Friday evening as the team – also home to 2006 title winner Nicky Hayden – celebrated with its traditional Ducati Night, with both riders present to the delight of the crowd.
In more private surroundings Rossi continues to train hard, with results for the still injured 32-year-old having proved disappointing in the most recent Sepang test session.
