Elías: It won’t be easy but I’m confident

8 March 2011

Toni Elías steps back up to the top MotoGP category as 2010 Moto2 Champion this year, although the Spaniard understands that his challenge will not be an easy one with LCR Honda. However, the Catalan rider – who turns 28 later this month – was full of confidence as the squad officially launched its latest contender in Venice.

“I flew here from Barcelona with my mum and my dad and we were all surprised because the party was unique!” he laughed. “Venice is a wonderful city and the event was incredible. I could feel the affection of the team’s guests and I was very happy because I met them for the first time.

“We are leaving for Qatar in a couple of days and I hope to return all this trust to Lucio, his team and all the fans. It won’t be easy but I am very stubborn - Lucio knows my temper! The premier class has already given me several successes, so that’s why I’m very confident.”
