De Puniet annoyed by ankle injury
9 June 2011 – Although Randy de Puniet’s ankle injury - sustained in Barcelona last weekend – has not prevented the Frenchman from taking part in the upcoming British Grand Prix, the Pramac rider admits that the setback has come as a particular annoyance.
“I must say that I really didn’t need this ankle injury,” de Puniet, who qualified second and finished sixth at Silverstone last year, said on Thursday.
“I’ve tried to relax the last couple of days and, fortunately, my doctor visit ruled out ligament damage. It’s a shame because I did well at Silverstone last year, especially in qualifying. I hope that, although my physical condition isn’t 100 percent, I can repeat that performance this weekend.”
