Abraham confirms 2012 Ducati deal

24 June 2011

It has been confirmed that Karel Abraham will remain with the Cardion AB Motoracing outfit in 2012. The Czech, who is making his debut in the top MotoGP class this year, has also been handed an option for a 2013 contract following meetings at Assen on Thursday.

“I’m definitely very satisfied and there are some things in the contract we changed in comparison to this year, which I’m very happy about,” says the 21-year-old from Brno. “I think all these things will help me progress through MotoGP and have good results this year and next year too.

“I’m looking forward. I don’t know if we will have the opportunity to try the GP11.1, but I’m really looking forward to trying the 2012 Ducati. Aside from the change in engine power there will also be some other things, they’ve worked on the chassis and the whole bike so there will be several things changed compared to this year.

“I don’t see the differences yet because I don’t know all the technical differences and data at the moment - hopefully I’ll get that information soon.”
