Repsol Honda has verified that Dani Pedrosa will be making his return to MotoGP at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix. Since breaking his collarbone at Le Mans in mid-May, the Barcelona rider has been forced to the sidelines for three races as medical procedures and a convalesce continued in his home city.
“I've been waiting weeks to be able to write in my blog to say I will return to competition, and today at last I can,” Pedrosa wrote on the team’s website.
“As I said last week, Mugello was the objective and it's all I am thinking about now. I'm going to Italy really looking forward to getting on my bike again, to see how it feels and to compete.”
During his absence, the 25-year-old has dropped to sixth overall in the World Championship and now trails team-mate and leader Casey Stoner by 75 points.
