Pramac ‘extremely sad’ about Capirossi absence

30 June 2011

Pramac Racing has released an official statement from Team Principal Paolo Campinoti, who has expressed his sadness over Loris Capirossi being forced to sit out of his home Italian Grand Prix this weekend. Mugello will mark his second race nonattendance, having sustained a dislocated shoulder at Assen last Friday.

“We are extremely sad regarding what happened to Loris in Assen,” says Campinoti. “It’s such a pity, especially before such an important race, for him and for us, at the Mugello. It is our home Grand Prix and his absence will be felt. We tried to look for some alternative riders for this race, but in such a short time it was impossible.

“As part of our technical staff doesn’t have a rider to manage, we gladly accepted Ducati’s request to use our Technical Engineer, Fabiano Sterlacchini, in support of Valentino Rossi due to the absence of his official Chief Technician, Jeremy Burgess, due to personal matters.”
