‘Shoya’s Day’ established for late Tomizawa

8 July 2011

A commemorative day has been organised for MotoGP’s Shoya Tomizawa, who was killed in the Moto2 race at Misano last year. The special event will be staged just over a week after the first anniversary of the accident, at Pole Mécanique d'Alès – the home track of the Technomag-CIP team – on Tuesday 13 September.

A free event for all who wish to pay tribute to the 19-year-old, who won Moto2’s first ever race in 2010, activities will include auctions for items of the Japanese rider and a raffle. Also on offer will be track days and autographed items from a selection of 125cc and Moto2 riders.

Raffle tickets are available for 4 euros (or three tickets for 10 euros) and can be purchased by sending an email – containing name, address and number of desired tickets – to f.s.o@live.fr. For contributions to ‘Shoya’s Tribute Wall’, any pictures, drawings, letters or poems should be sent to:

CIP / Shoya’s wall
Pole Mécanique d’Alès, Vallon de Fontanes
30520 St Martin de Valgalgues, France

All proceeds for the event will go to the parents of Showa Tomizawa.
