Repsol Honda’s Casey Stoner set the fastest time during this morning’s warmup session ahead of the German Grand Prix, posting an effort of 1:22.132 to lead factory Yamaha rival and fellow front row starter Jorge Lorenzo. Dani Pedrosa claimed third with his personal best lap, completing the top three.
Similarly clear skies welcomed the riders at the German circuit before the session got underway, with Stoner’s quickest tour just a few tenths adrift of his pole position time from yesterday afternoon. Álvaro Bautista’s encouraging weekend continued, placing his Suzuki machine in fourth, a mere 32 thousandths ahead of Italian Marco Simoncelli.
America's Ben Spies was next on the timing screens in sixth place, edging in front of Andrea Dovizioso and fellow countrymen Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards. Randy de Puniet rounded out a top ten covered by just 1.031 seconds, while Valentino Rossi enjoyed a more positive session en route to 11th place.
