2011 Czech Republic MotoGP Grand Prix: Sunday warm up results

Dani Pedrosa held onto his impressive qualifying pace to comfortably lead this morning’s warmup session in the Czech Republic, completing a lap of the Brno venue in a time of 1:56.675. The Repsol Honda rider outpaced fellow front row starter Jorge Lorenzo by more than half a second, while Ben Spies completed the top three.

Weather conditions remained pleasant at the circuit this morning, allowing for Pedrosa to get within a tenth of his personal best qualifying effort. Gresini’s Marco Simoncelli wound up fourth behind Spies at the end of the 20 minute session, just ahead of Casey Stoner who was unable to make an impression on Pedrosa with his fastest effort.

Andrea Dovizioso and Álvaro Bautista finished their final preparations in sixth and seventh respectively, holding off Cal Crutchlow who enjoyed a positive outing on his Tech 3 Yamaha machine. Nicky Hayden was the quickest Ducati ahead of compatriot Colin Edwards, while Italy’s Valentino Rossi narrowly missed out on a top ten spot.

The race begins at 2pm local time (BST +1)
