Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo says his team has taken another step forward at Misano this weekend, explaining that he can ‘fight for the honours’ with key rivals Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa during tomorrow afternoon’s San Marino Grand Prix. The Spaniard starts from second, splitting the Repsol Honda pair in qualifying earlier today.
"The problems are solved; more or less we can fight for the honours with Casey and Dani," said Lorenzo, who currently trails Stoner by 44 points in the championship standings.
"They keep being so fast and so quick, so fighting with them you must be at more than 100 percent. But anyway there are a lot of laps to do in the race, I think we have a good pace. Hopefully we can do it tomorrow."
Reigning Champion Lorenzo heads into Sunday's 28-lap race with a 44-point defecit to Stoner in the title race, meaning he cannot overhaul the Australian this weekend.
