Honda has announced that Shinichi Ito and Kosuke Akiyoshi will be joining its line-up for the Japanese MotoGP at the start of October. This means that, for the first time in history, no less than eight Honda bikes will be entering a MotoGP race.
Ito and Akiyoshi will form part of Honda’s mass entry alongside the Repsol-sponsored bikes of Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso, the San Carlo Gresini machines of Marco Simoncelli and Hiroshi Aoyama plus LCR’s Tony Elías.
The race attendance for the test riders is confirmed as a wild card Repsol Honda Team entry for Ito, whereas Akiyoshi will join the LCR line-up.
