Sepang test cancelled as mark of respect

MotoGP’s post-race test in Malaysia has been called off as a mark of respect for Marco Simoncelli, who lost his life in a shocking accident early in Sunday’s race.

The 24-year-old from Cattolica lost control exiting Turn 11, drifting back across the racing line and being hit by Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi who, despite their best efforts, were unable to avoid the Gresini Honda rider.

MotoGP will resume with the season-ending Grand Prix of Valencia on 6 November.
