Surgery successful for recovering Dovizioso
9 January 2012 – Andrea Dovizioso has undergone a successful operation following his recent accident. The Italian MotoGP rider had surgery on Saturday after a motocross fall.
Dovizioso - whose only MotoGP win to date came at Donington Park in 2009 - was in need of surgery to his right clavicle, which had been fractured in four places last Thursday. The operation was carried out by Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini, who was also responsible for compatriot’s Valentino Rossi’s surgery in 2010.
'I’m almost as good as new!' the 25-year-old commented via Twitter.
For 2012, Dovizioso switches from the factory Honda team which won the 2011 world titles to the Tech 3 Yamaha outfit.
