Battaini replaces injured Abraham in Germany

4 July 2012

Ducati test rider Franco Battaini has been drafted in to replace the still injured Karel Abraham for this weekend’s latest installment of MotoGP in Germany. The Italian takes to the Cardion AB Racing bike as the Czech recovers from a wounded hand.

Abraham suffered his injuries – fractures of the third and fifth metacarpal – after the Catalunya round of the championship and his convalescence has not been as swift as anticipated. He was set to return for last weekend’s Dutch TT at Assen, but was forced to pull out after suffering too much pain in the opening practice period.

Friday’s first practice at the Sachsenring begins at 10:10am local time (BST +1).
