The Pramac MotoGP team has announced that Spain’s Toni Elías is riding for the squad at Laguna Seca this weekend. He will replace compatriot Héctor Barberá, who is unable to take part after fracturing his left fibula and tibia last week.
The temporary switch marks a return to the top class for Elías, who has been competing for Aspar in Moto2. He returns to Pramac after picking up surprising podium finishes for the team at the Czech and San Marino MotoGP events of 2008.
Three weeks after Laguna Seca but still in America, MotoGP will head to Indianapolis.
