Barberá to attempt Indianapolis weekend

Barberá to attempt Indianapolis weekend

14 August 2012

Injured Pramac rider Héctor Barberá will make an appearance in practice for this weekend’s Indianapolis MotoGP, it has been confirmed. As he is still recovering, the Spaniard was not expected to travel to America and Toni Elías was to be in his place.

Barberá sustained a broken fibula and tibia in a training accident approximately a month ago and has since been checked over in Barcelona. Although the team had already confirmed his absence from Indianapolis, the 25-year-old is keen to make an attempt and will learn whether or not he is fit enough to take part during Friday’s sessions.

Should Barberá be unable to race, compatriot Elías will remain on-hand as a substitute.
