Cal Crutchlow topped the post-race MotoGP test session at Brno on Monday, leading the way from Tech 3 Yamaha team-mate Andrea Dovizioso. Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo was third as Jonathan Rea made an appearance for Repsol Honda.
Fresh from Sunday’s podium finish in the Czech Republic, Crutchlow completed 47 laps of the circuit en route to a best lap time of 1:56.461. This edged out Ducati bound Dovizioso by just over one tenth of a second, with Lorenzo third from Dani Pedrosa.
Further down in the classification, Rea – fifth in the Superbike World Championship – ended the day in ninth position. The Northern Irishman is favourite to replace the injured Casey Stoner, who aims to return to competition by Phillip Island.
Also in action was Loris Capirossi as the retiree of 2011 circulated in his role of Safety Advisor for MotoGP commercial rights holder Dorna Sports. The Italian, riding a variety of machines, completed the 13-bike field from Colin Edwards’ Speed Master.
