Stoner recovering at home after operation

30 August 2012

Casey Stoner has undergone successful surgery in his home nation of Australia, having left the Czech Grand Prix early for his ankle to be attended to. The reigning Champion is expected to miss several more MotoGP races following his crash at Indianapolis.

Having staged a press conference on at Brno a week ago, Stoner headed directly to the airport to begin his trip back to Australia. Upon his arrival, he visited the North Shore Private Hospital in Sydney where the operation was carried out.

Doctors have confirmed that there are no complications and therefore no need for the 26-year-old to remain in hospital. He is now resuming his convalescence at home.
