Karel Abraham moved atop the timesheets in Friday's second practice session at Misano, with further rainfall keeping lap totals to a minimum. Key title contenders Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa again failed to make an appearance, the duo instead opting to wait for Saturday's projected improvement in weather conditions.
Abraham's time of 1:42.030 was more than a second quicker than nearest rival James Ellison, the latter on CRT machinery. Michele Pirro wound up third quickest, with Yonni Hernandez and Repsol Honda stand-in Jonathan Rea close behind.
Danilo Petrucci and David Salom were next up in sixth and seventh, while Ducati's 2013 signing Ben Spies completed four tentative laps. Randy de Puniet and Mattia Pasini rounded out the top ten, with Álvaro Bautista the final rider to post a lap time.
