Capirossi reveals 2013 MotoGP calendar

Next year’s MotoGP race calendar has been unofficially revealed by Loris Capirossi, who in 2012 has is serving as the Safety Advisor for Dorna Sports. The Qatar night race kicks off proceedings on the earlier date of 31 March, with new races such as Argentina joining the schedule before Valencia closes the campaign on 10 November.

Whereas the return to Argentina has been confirmed, question marks remain over other possible new races such as India or Austin, Texas. The four Spanish races will remain, contrary to popular belief, and there will be two sets of triple back-to-back events.

In the current MotoGP season, Jorge Lorenzo’s win at Misano leaves the 2010 World Champion with a 38-point lead over Dani Pedrosa, who was taken out of the race.
