A u-turn has been made at the Avintia Blusens MotoGP team, which has decided to draft Iván Silva back into the squad for the rest of the campaign. Having been placed on the sidelines as test rider, he returns to replace David Salom.
Salom has competed in the last two races at Misano and MotorLand, but will now become the spectator as Silva carries out a string of ‘tests’ ahead of next season.
“The team gave me the opportunity to ride the bike, which I appreciate, and has now decided not to continue,” Salom explained to the official MotoGP website.
“It is true that the results have not come, but the conditions in these two races have not been the best and they have been two difficult races. I had already said I expected things to be better from Japan, but won’t have the chance to prove it. I wish Iván the best of luck.”
MotoGP continues at Motegi in Japan next weekend.
