Tributes have been paid to the late Marco Simoncelli ahead of this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix, the event in which the Italian tragically lost his life one year ago.
Starting at the Gresini team pit box, members of the MotoGP community made their way to Turn 11 for a round of applause followed by a two-minute silence, with a permanent plaque being placed at the corner by team owner Fausto Gresini.
At the season finale in Valencia next month, the 'Marco Simoncelli rookie of the year' trophy will be presented to the most exciting new talent to have emerged in MotoGP.
