Lorenzo striving to win final race of 2012

6 November 2012

Jorge Lorenzo travels to Valencia as MotoGP World Champion of 2012, having picked up the honour last time out in Australia. Not only is the Spaniard aiming for one final race victory of the season, but Yamaha is engaged in a very tightly-contested Constructors’ Championship battle with arch rivals Repsol Honda.

“This is the last round of the season and it’s a great feeling to be coming home to my Spanish fans as the World Champion,” says the Mallorcan, who now resides in Barcelona.

“It’s been a long, tough year and we have all worked so hard to get here. Now this weekend will be one to enjoy for all of us, with less pressure. I will of course still be pushing for the top step of the podium and it would be amazing to end the year with a victory.”

As regular team-mate Ben Spies is still out with injury, Lorenzo is riding alongside Katsuyuki Nakasuga as Yamaha pushes to pick up the aforementioned constructors’ title.
