Corti joins Avintia Blusens for MotoGP debut

8 November 2012

Claudio Corti will step up to the MotoGP class for a late-season debut at this weekend’s season finale of Valencia. So far in 2012, the Moto2 front-runner has run with the Italtrans Racing Team before parting company after Aragón.

“Being able to race in MotoGP with the Avintia Racing team and being backed by J.Juan is great news for me,” says the 25-year-old from Como. “This season has not been easy, but to end the year this way compensates, in part, all my efforts.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity and I can assure you that I will try to make the most of it. I am not fooled and must be aware that it will be complicated, because I will be in the top category, but that motivates me even more. I will try to get the best out of the bike and do my best.”

The MotoGP Riders’ Championship had already been decided in favour of Jorge Lorenzo, but Yamaha and Honda are still battling for constructors’ honours.
