Dani Pedrosa will start the last MotoGP race of the season from pole position after a terrific performance in qualifying for the Valencian Grand Prix ahead of Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner. Pedrosa has set a new record of the circuit Ricardo Tormo with a lap clocked in 1.30.844 to clinch pole position for the final race of the season.
The Repsol Honda rider edged out his team-mate Casey Stoner in the last minutes of the qualifying session at Valencia, before a final push from Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo eventually demoted the Australian to third position.
Cal Crutchlow will be the second best-placed Yamaha on the grid after posting the 4th fastest time in qualifying, ahead of LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl and his Tech 3 team-mate Andrea Dovizioso.
Nicky Hayden qualified his Ducati on the 7th spot on the grid and will be joined on the third row by Alvaro Bautista (Honda Gresini) and Hector Barbera (Pramac Racing). Aspar's Aleix Espargaro, the top CRT qualifier, completes the top 10.
