"I'd like to thank HRC for their trust in me," explained Suppo, who was a leading member of the Ducati team from 1999 to 2009. "I will do my best to merit my new role and hope to assist in the Team's success.

"I know that we can count on two very strong riders, a formidable machine, a great international crew and the great support of Repsol and all our sponsors. Together we will all do our best to keep the Repsol Honda Team at the top of MotoGP."

Suppo will work under Shuhei Nakamoto, the Executive Vice-President of HRC. In 2013, Dani Pedrosa enters his eighth season with Repsol Honda, while Marc Márquez takes the place of the departed Casey Stoner after winning the Moto2 title.
