Ducati completes setup test at Mugello
10 May 2013 – Ducati completed a two-day test at the Mugello circuit this week, with both Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden in action. On Wednesday and Thursday, amid pleasant weather conditions, the pair gathered valuable setup data on the Desmosedici GP13.
In addition to Dovizioso and Hayden's work, Michele Pirro amassed mileage ahead of his substitute appearance for Pramac's Ben Spies at the French Grand Prix, while Franco Battaini continued development work with the laboratory version of the GP13.
"The lap times weren’t bad, but we must improve our pace, although it’s difficult to talk about times since we don’t really have any references," said Dovizioso. "However, I will say that I think this track is better suited to the Ducati’s characteristics."
Hayden added: "We were able to do some things with the chassis and geometry that we had wanted to try at the first three races, along with the electronics. We’ll know how our pace compares when we’re here with the other teams in a few weeks."
The next round of the MotoGP season takes place at Le Mans from 17-19 May.
