MotoGP to return to Brazil next season
19 August 2013 – MotoGP will make a return to Brazil at the Autódromo Nelson Piquet de Brasília next season, it was announced during a press conference in the country on Monday.
The agreement will put to an end a nine-year absence from the calendar, with Brazil last hosting a Grand Prix at the Jacarepaguá circuit, Rio de Janeiro in 2004.
Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and Federal District Governor Agnelo Queiroz were present to confirm the deal, which is subject to an official FIM homologation.
Ezpeleta hinted that the circuit could slot into the second half of the 2014 season.
