Márquez on top as Crutchlow crashes

Álvaro Bautista continued his impressive form to claim fourth, while the factory Ducati squad looks set to enjoy one of its more successful weekends in recent times, with Andrea Dovizioso fifth and Nicky Hayden seventh, sandwiching Valentino Rossi.
Local favourite Cal Crutchlow was next up in eighth, the Tech 3 rider having suffered two crashes during the session. After first tumbling on cold tyres, the Brit returned to the pits to make us of his second bike, but fell again at Turn 8 following a major highside incident. With both of his bikes sustaining damage, the 27-year-old has much to do ahead of qualifying if he is to impress on home soil.
Aleix Espargaró was again the leading CRT runner in ninth position, with Dani Pedrosa bookending the top ten runners for Repsol Honda.
Fourth practice at Silverstone begins at 13.30pm local time (GMT +1)
