Lorenzo fastest ahead of qualifying
31 August 2013 – Jorge Lorenzo went quickest in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the British Grand Prix, posting a 2:02.049 to edge out Dani Pedrosa and Stefan Bradl.
Having ended Friday as the man to beat, reigning World Champion Lorenzo rose to the top of the timesheets early on, and stayed ahead as most riders took the opportunity to test out Bridgestone’s differing rubber compounds.
Marc Márquez, fastest in the morning session, wound up fourth, with local hero Cal Crutchlow recovering from two crashes in the penultimate practice session to go fifth.
Valentino Rossi and Bradley Smith followed in sixth and seventh respectively, while Andrea Dovizioso, Álvaro Bautista and Nicky Hayden completed the top ten riders.
Qualifying for the British Grand Prix gets underway at 2.10pm local time (GMT +1)
