Lorenzo looks to extend winning form
11 September 2013 – Jorge Lorenzo is hopeful that he will be able to extend his winning form in San Marino this weekend, having halted Marc Márquez's four-race run of victories at Silverstone.
Describing a lack of straightline speed as Yamaha's "only weak point" compared to Honda, Lorenzo reckons his team will find itself in a strong position at Misano, allied to his returning fitness after crashing at Assen and Sachsenring earlier in the season.
"I feel strong again like I was at Montmeló and Mugello before the crash," he said. "The performance at Silverstone was really good, the only weak point there was the top speed compared to our rivals, but at last we achieved a great victory against Marc.
"Misano is a track I enjoy a lot and the Yamaha is comfortable there. My next goal is to fight for the victory once more and think race by race, improving our pace step by step."
Lorenzo occupies third in the MotoGP title fight following his British Grand Prix victory, nine points behind Dani Pedrosa and a further 30 adrift of current leader Márquez.
