Lorenzo tops warm-up at Misano
15 September 2013 – Jorge Lorenzo has gone quickest in Sunday morning's final warm-up ahead of the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano, in the process preventing Marc Márquez from claiming his second 'clean sweep' of weekend sessions this season.
Márquez had made top spot his own throughout Friday and Saturday, and is set to start on pole this afternoon. Nevertheless, as the riders took to the track under clear skies for the warm-up session, it was Yamaha's Lorenzo that rose to the head of the timesheets early on, posting an initial target of 1:34.107. Although Márquez edged closer to his rival as the session wore on, Lorenzo lowered his benchmark twice, and ultimately wound up over seven tenths of a second ahead on a 1:33.832.
Dani Pedrosa displayed improved form to finish third, ahead of Valentino Rossi and Gresini's Álvaro Bautista. Tech 3 rider Cal Crutchlow took sixth, with Stefan Bradl, Nicky Hayden, Andrea Dovizioso and Aleix Espargaró completing the top ten.
The San Marino Grand Prix gets underway at 2pm local time (GMT +2)
