Rossi launches his own Moto 3 team
24 September 2013 – MotoGP superstar and legend Valentino Rossi is to establish his own team that will run in the Moto3 class next year, it has been announced.
According to reports on the official MotoGP website, the outfit has already submitted an official entry application with the FIM, MotoGP’s governing body, and Dorna Sports, the commercial rights holder.
The team will use KTM machines, with Sky Italia, the Italian MotoGP broadcaster from 2014, coming onboard as the main sponsor. 17-year-old Romano Fenati will be one of the riders.
“We have joined forces with Sky in order to give the Italian riders the opportunity to be competitive and reach the highest levels,” said Rossi, who has won the MotoGP Riders' title seven times.
