Lorenzo expecting 'new level' of pace at Aragón
25 September 2013 – Reigning MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo has expressed his confidence of attaining a good result at the upcoming Aragónian Grand Prix, alluding to Yamaha’s superior pace during tests at the circuit earlier this year.
Although trailing current championship leader Marc Márquez by 34 points, Lorenzo has ramped up his performances in recent weeks as he strives to hunt down his rival, and claimed a dominant win in San Marino last time out. In the knowledge that his Yamaha machine may be well suited to this weekend’s venue, the Spaniard reckons that he may be able to take his performance to ‘a new level’.
"I’m really looking forward to going to Aragon because in that track we did a very good test before the Assen Grand Prix," he said. "In those tests we were the fastest and now we have an even better bike.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know our new level at the circuit," he continued. "I feel very good physically and also the last Misano test went very well for us, so I'm going to Aragon feeling positive."
Should Lorenzo take victory on Sunday, it would be his first at the venue since it was introduced to the calender in 2010.
