Stoner tests Honda production bike
3 October 2013 – Casey Stoner was back in action for Honda at Twin Ring Motegi, Japan on Thursday, testing the current RC213V bike and production racer the brand will supply in 2014.
After spending Wednesday on the sidelines due to heavy rainfall, improved conditions this morning saw the Australian gather further data on the works machine, before switching his focus to the development of the production design in the afternoon.
"Today we started with the current RCV, trying to find a base setting and then work from there," said two-time MotoGP World Champion Stoner. "We had two variations of chassis' to try and some big modifications and improvements in my opinion.
"We also tried the production bike which was more impressive than I predicted. It had a similar feeling to the RCV but with a little less power and a different feeling in engine braking. With some small modifications I believe this bike will be competitive and I look forward to the next test with it! In general it was a good, but busy day!"
