Cudlin to remain with PBM for all the flyaways
8 October 2013 – Damian Cudlin is to continue with Paul Bird Motorsport in Malaysia this weekend and in Japan later this month, the Penrith-based team has confirmed.
Cudlin was drafted in by PBM at the end of last month to replace Yonny Hernandez, with the 30-year-old initially scheduled to do two events, the race at Aragon and also the event at Philip Island, which follows this weekend’s round at Sepang.
However, the Aussie has now been released from his IDM Superbike Championship contract with the RAC (Racing Against Cancer) BMW Team, leaving him free to do all three of the MotoGP flyaway events.
“PBM would like to thank the RAC Racing BMW Team for allowing Damian to race for us in the Malaysian GP and we now look forward to working with him for the three long haul races and continue the progress we were making during the sessions at Aragon,” commented Technical Director, Phil Borley.
British rider Michael Laverty, who has campaigned the CRT-specification PBM machine all season, meanwhile will continue aboard the Aprilia ART machine for the remainder of the year, PBM added.
