Márquez given penalty point for clash
10 October 2013 – Marc Márquez has been given one penalty point by MotoGP Race Direction following his clash with Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa during the Aragón Grand Prix.
On the sixth lap of the race at MotorLand Aragón, the fellow Spaniards made slight contact under braking for Turn 12, with Pedrosa being thrown from his machine and into the air moments later due to slight damage on his traction control system.
Having reviewed the incident, the panel chose to hand a penalty point to Márquez – who is now on a total of three – and strip the Constructors' points he went on to achieve for Repsol Honda. This leaves the outfit just one point ahead of Yamaha.
